You will find links to the Alchemy Bowls spoken of in the sound recording at the bottom of this page.
The original metal singing bowls first originated in Asia thousands of years ago. More recently, crystal has been used to create powerfully resonant singing bowls. Although we will discuss the timeline of events in the last few decades of the bowl’s manifestation, it is important to consider that many people have a recollection and perception of using the crystal singing bowls in ancient times, parallel universes, other dimensions and past lives. Many people drawn to working with the bowls today, often recall memories of having used the bowls in Atlantean and Lemurian times.
Huge quartz vessels have actually been discovered in Egypt - their use is under debate. Some people have suggested that the bowls are actually not a historical evolution of singing bowls, but are a manifestation from a more advanced and evolved time. This opens up a much deeper conversation and subject of exploration for those who are interested.
For those interested in working with the energies of Lemuria and Atlantis, and of Egyptian energies, Genevra often has the following Alchemy bowls that resonate with these ancient civilisations and their wisdom:
Crystal Tones® Larimar AlchemyTM - Wisdom of Atlantis
Larimar is only found in the Dominican Republic and is considered to have arisen from the time of Atlantis and is often referred to as the ‘Atlantis Stone.’ The Larimar AlchemyTM Crystal Singing Bowls can open a gateway for retrieving the wisdom from these times of evolution. Some say that the Atlantians were a civilisation advanced in their state of consciousness, masculine essence, living esoteric wisdom and advanced technology. The Larimar AlchemyTM crystal singing bowl is said to hold the coding for the the awakened masculine, the lessons learned and wisdom lived.
Crystal Tones® Lemurian Seed AlchemyTM - Lemurian Star Bridge
Lemurian Seed Crystal was initially found in Brazil but later since has been discovered in the USA, Tibet, Zambia, Russia and Columbia. It is believed to be sent to Earth by the high priestesses of Lemuria, the lost and sacred land which is said to have existed millions of years ago. Legend remains that this was a very advanced civilisation. Those incarnated possessing a much higher state of consciousness, a great love for the Earth and highly evolved in the feminine essence. The Lemurian Seed AlchemyTM Crystal Singing Bowl is felt to hold the knowledge of the Lemurians, along with the wisdom learned during their downfall.
‘Spiritual light and wisdom of the Lemurians. This unique bowl is clear quartz with Lemurian Seed Crystal both incorporated within the bowl structure as well as fused to the outside. This creates a very distinct texture that is difficult to show (clear crystal on a clear bowl) in photographs. Make note that this bowl is indeed clear to opaque quartz and as such, is inherently colourless in reality.’ (Crystal Tones®)
Crystal Tones® Egyptian Blue AlchemyTM - Hathor
‘These beautiful bowls were designed and created exclusively by Crystal Tones to harmonically link the wisdom of the Ancient Ones with the healing technology of the future. The Egyptian Blue Bowl is modelled on the Quartz Crystal Egyptian Bowls from the 13th Dynasty Thebes, Egypt. These beautiful creations are all as individual as a fingerprint - no two are alike! The Crystal Tones Egyptian Crystal Singing Bowl Series® was inspired by this Quartz Faience Bowl from the 13th Dynasty Egypt - (1,700 B.C.E. - nearly 4,000 years old!). Faience is the oldest artificial substance, first made in Egypt 5,500 years ago, a millennium before glass was invented. It has a core of powdered quartz particles that are fused to each other with heat (much like the crystal singing bowls of today). Over the core is a glaze, applied in one of several different ways.
The above bowl is from the Myers Museum Collection at Eton College.’ (Crystal Tones®)
The Origin of the Crystal Singing Bowls
The original crystal singing bowls were made only from quartz, having a recognisably ‘classic’ design, with a frosted-white sandpaper texture to the outside of the bowl and a smooth glass-like texture on the inside. Like metal bowls, the original frosted crystal singing bowls produce a haunting sound when struck or rubbed with a mallet.
These ‘classic’ quartz bowls are made using a byproduct of the semiconductor industry and were designed for the manufacture of silicon computer microchips.
Both the nature of quartz (as discussed earlier) and its purity when used to make the bowls, enables them to withstand extremely high temperatures needed to melt the raw polycrystalline silicon, (also called polysilicon or poly-Si, is a high purity, polycrystalline form of silicon). The crystal singing bowls are therefore called crucibles ('melting pots’) and have been used for the last 30 years in the production of microchips using the Czochralski process, (named after the Polish scientist Jan Czochralski.
In a lab environment, the quartz crucible is filled with chunks of polycrystalline silicon and heated in an argon filled furnace (to purge all air) to around 1,425 degrees. Once fully melted, a precisely oriented rod-mounted seed crystal is dipped into the molten silicon. The seed crystal's rod rotates counterclockwise and the crucible rotates clockwise simultaneously. The rotating rod is then drawn upwards extremely slowly - over a number of hours - allowing a large 1-2 metre, roughly cylindrical, single-crystal, boule/ingot to be formed.
By accident, it was discovered that the discarded silicon crucibles were extremely resonant and were thus appropriated for creating beautiful and transcending frequencies. Today, the bowls continue to make silicon for computer chips - but are perhaps more well known world-wide for their beautiful tones and therapeutic use with the mind, body and spirit.
Classic Frosted Quartz Bowls
Original ‘Classic’ frosted bowls in use today tend to be thick, heavy and sturdy. This helps to give tones which are particularly loud in volume. This makes them excellent for very large public events, such as festivals and large group work.
Classic Frosted Bowls range in size from 7 to 24 inches (around 18cm to 60cm) and are often impossible to hold in the palm of one’s hand due to the size and weight. Generally, the bowls are instead played on a flat surface like the floor and kept in situ.
It is felt that these bowls were discovered to begin a process of clearing the dense energy residing in the matrix of the earth. Working in co-creation to reflect and amplify the process of frequency shift, beginning with the collective awakening from the illusions of this world.
Alchemy Bowls
Crystal Tones has developed under the loving guardianship of ‘Lupito’ the original founder and creator. Lupito is a visionary, who is in a consistent state of receiving wisdom and information as to what is needed for the healing and awakening of humanity. Lupito ‘tunes in’ to the Crystal Grid and reads what is being called forth by the collective, this is how the Alchemy Bowls came into co-creation and continue to evolve. You will notice over time how some Alchemical Blends no longer exist and how other new bowls come into birth and blossom.
Much of the technology is also ‘received’ and one of the attributes that sets Crystal Tones® bowls apart from other replicas is the importance attached to retaining the sacred structure of the crystal during the creation process.
The bowls have evolved into multi-dimensional expressions of vibration; colour, shape, light and sound. They are lighter weight, the crystal is more refined, they are an ever evolving manifestation of quartz infused crystals, minerals and metals. Each ‘Alchemy’ holds a unique energetic vibration that is expressed in this fusion. This unique combination changes not only the appearance of the bowl but also the energies, sounds and harmonic sound-waves produced.
Practitioners who work with Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls recognise that the instruments help to motivate the body, on an atomic level, to return to its divine natural state. In doing so, they support the journey from tension to relaxation, resistance into surrender, unease into peace, confusion into clarity, from sickness to health, bringing back into balance that which has become unbalanced.
How Alchemy bowls are made
Crystal Tones® engineered the process of making the Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls. Their bowls are produced by melting natural quartz crystals of exceptionally high-purity silica SiO₂ (quartz crystal). Crystal Tones® use quartz from the most sought after mine in North Carolina known worldwide for its unsurpassed quality. High-purity quartz, (defined as having impurities of less than 50 parts per million) is less common than low or medium purity quartz and therefore more expensive. Alchemy Crystal singing bowls typically are comprised of 99.99% quartz, and are virtually free of impurities such as iron, potassium and sodium oxides. They are different from standard glass bowls, as glass is a combination of silica, soda ash and limestone.
Crystal Tones® singing bowls are produced on a one-of-a-kind custom-built machine that utilises a proprietary quartz fusion technology. This allows for the absolute highest magma temperature during production, and creates a highly stable crystalline matrix in every Crystal Tones® singing bowl. This is a quality difference you can clearly hear and feel.
The exact process of material engineering the Alchemy bowls is Crystal Tones® proprietary information. However, the overall process involves quartz being placed inside a bowl-shaped mould and spun using a centrifugal force and with precise timing an electric arch torch is ignited to around 4,000 degrees centigrade, allowing the particles to be fused together in the bowl-shaped mould.
Within the alchemical blend, in accompaniment to the pure quartz, Crystal Tones® add the following:
Gemstones
A precious stone (or crystal) and a semi-precious stone are both classifications of gemstones. It is a portion of a crystal, which, in refined and cut form, is used to create jewellery. Precious gemstones/crystals are diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires. All other gemstones are considered semi-precious.
Some precious or semi-precious crystals which are considered rare, durable and visually attractive are made into gemstones through a process of cutting, faceting and polishing.
Sapphire, emerald, diamond and ruby are considered precious gemstones due to their rarity, desirability and high quality, however there are many semi-precious gemstones that are equally desirable and rare such as tanzanite and topaz. Of the 3,700 minerals currently identified, very few are cut as gemstones, (Eason, Cassandra. The New Crystal Bible. London: Carlton Publishing Group, 2010, page. 8).
Rare and Precious Metals
We currently work with the following precious metals which are blended with quartz and into many of the Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls, each of which holds a very unique vibration and energetic quality:
Platinum (Platinum, Mother of Platinum, Aura Bowls)
Gold (Therapeutic Gold)
Yellow Gold (Ocean, Green Heart, Aqua, Lemon, Pink Ocean Gold)
Pink Gold (Saint Germain, Violet Flame)
Vanadium (Indigo)
Copper (Tibetan)
Iron (Laughing Buddha, Grandmother and Grandfather)
Metals have high electrical conductivity and are often extracted from the Earth by means of mining ores which contain the required elements.
An ore is an occurrence of rock or sediment that contains sufficient minerals with economically important elements, typically metals, that can be economically extracted from the deposit. The ores are extracted from the earth through mining; they are then refined (often via smelting) to extract the valuable element, or elements.
The ore grade, (the concentration of an ore mineral or metal), as well as its form of occurrence, will directly affect the costs associated with mining the ore and therefore whether a metal is considered valuable or ‘precious.’
Rare Earths
Crystal Tones® also combine rare earth energies and minerals into the Alchemy (often from Sacred Sites and Ceremonies). These connect with our planet’s sacred land, water, temples, prayers and vortexes such as:
Tanzanite (Mount Kilimanjaro)
